Daily Dose of Paradise: Waimea Bay September 13, 2016
Had a great day out with the kids at Waimea Bay. The sand was low enough that they could swim under the rock.

This daily dose of paradise was filmed on the island of Oahu over spring break 2015. Air shots are taken with a DJI Phantom FC40. Camera is a GoPro Hero 3 Black. Set to 60 FPS and 1080HD. Most of the footage was filmed off the trail to the Makapuu lighthouse on the east side of Oahu.
Your daily dose of paradise this week includes an older video taken in and around a pool in Hawaii. The family and I had so much fun making this video. Taken with a GoPro Hero Black 3 at 120 frames per second.
The daily dose of paradise today includes my friend Sara and her paddling buddies. It was Sara’s birthday and to celebrate she planned to take a trip to the Moke’s just off Lanikai beach in Kailua. Filmed with a GoPro Hero3 Black and attached to a DJI Phantom.
My son and I decided to play around with the GoPro while at a friends house. We had a lot of fun jumping around and at one point left the GoPro at the bottom of the pool. Those are probably my favorite scenes.
The Sandbar in Kaneohe Bay from Christian Gehrke on Vimeo. We spent the day with friends who paddle for the Na Koa Lani crew (http://nakoalani.org/) in Kaneohe. We spent the morning enjoying the amazing sandbar that has formed in the Kaneohe Bay. What an amazing day. All the footage, both videos and still shots, were taken with the GoPro H3. The video was set at 120 frames per second at 720p HD quality.
I made a quick video with clips from the GoPro while at Sharks Cove in the north shore of Oahu. We stopped off at a friends house on the way home to jump in their pool.
I have recently been given a GoPro (http://gopro.com/) camera as a Christmas gift and have absolutely fallen in love with it. The ability to record HD video at 120 frames per second is just awesome. The kids and I have been messing around with it and have already captured some amazing footage. The version we have been using is the Hero+ 3 Black Edition and has the ability to record video at 4k but I have been happy enough with…
It’s been a while since I posted anything here and I thought I would share some recent panoramas I have taken from the windward side of Oahu. I hope to get back into sharing content here again very soon. All photos were taken with an iphone 5 and using the default pano feature built into the iphone.
I came home from work last and my 11 year old daughter says to me “I taught the dog to jump like a horse!” This is the first time one of the kids has ever tried to teach the dog anything. Needless to say I was pretty impressed. I am not sure who I am more impressed with, the dog or my daughter. Right-click or ctrl-click this link to download.
