GoPro Slow Motion Beach Video December 30, 2013
I have recently been given a GoPro (http://gopro.com/) camera as a Christmas gift and have absolutely fallen in love with it. The ability to record HD video at 120 frames per second is just awesome. The kids and I have been messing around with it and have already captured some amazing footage.
The version we have been using is the Hero+ 3 Black Edition and has the ability to record video at 4k but I have been happy enough with the lower resolutions as I can increase the frame rates and get some amazing slow motion clips. GoPro have been increasing the frame rate capabilities with each version.
A. GoPro Hero – maximum 60 fps
B. GoPro Hero 2 – maximum 120 fps WVGA
C. GoPro Hero 3 (black edition) – maximum 120 fps 720
I have been quite happy using the HD 720 / 120 FPS settings but will use the 1080 whenever I don’t plan on capturing slow motion clips.
Not only is the camera amazing and fun to use but the free software provided by GoPro (http://gopro.com/software-app/gopro-studio) to help edit videos is also really quite fun to use. It kept crashing at first but found that if I pull all the videos off and store them locally first it works perfectly. I find it as easy to use as Apple’s iMovie and just as fun to use. I look forward to sitting down with all the footage captured during the day and pawing over the results.
Here is one of my favorite videos so far.0
