I didn’t take this photo but i just had to share it. Lenticular clouds (Altocumulus lenticularis) are stationary lens-shaped clouds that form at high altitudes, normally in perpendicular alignment to the wind direction. Lenticular clouds can be separated into altocumulus standing lenticularis (ACSL), stratocumulus standing lenticular (SCSL), and cirrocumulus standing lenticular (CCSL). Due to their shape, they have been offered as an explanation for some Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) sightings.
I just finished reading a great article by Leo Widrich about the science of colors and I had to share. Colors are a lot more important than most developers think. It’s not just about what looks good or what does the client like. It can be hard to try and convince a client that a color can have more impact than they think. Leo’s article goes to great lengths to help illustrate this point. To answer the question propose in…
I came home from work last and my 11 year old daughter says to me “I taught the dog to jump like a horse!” This is the first time one of the kids has ever tried to teach the dog anything. Needless to say I was pretty impressed. I am not sure who I am more impressed with, the dog or my daughter. Right-click or ctrl-click this link to download.

I just found this amazing video with images from the island of Oahu, Hawaii. It really makes me miss home. I can easily recognize most of the places featured in this video and can’t wait to get back so I can enjoy the aloha spirit and the magic of the aina (aina – land, especially Hawaiian ancestral lands. That which feeds.). https://vimeo.com/m/63924812 Oahu from Filmingo Films on Vimeo.
We had a bit of sunshine today and decided to go for a hike near Dunfanaghy. It was still quite windy but well worth the trip. The temperature was around 11C/51F so it was not too bad.
Here are some more photos using the iOS app Tadaa and their tilt shift tool. I have written about this app before and it seems to be my go to tool for more advanced editing sessions. I have been using Tadaa for quite while and I do love using this app. It’s by far the best app for iOS for making TiltShift style photos. Tadaa is free and everyone should have this on their phone. Some apps will reduce the size of…
Some TiltShift fun using my iPhone 4S and an app called Tadaa.

Yahoo has just released a beautiful weather app for the iPhone (no iPad yet) that blends location based Flickr photos with a clean interface. I have always been a big weather junkie and probably have way too many apps related to weather. I tend to prefer information over design when it comes to weather apps (sat24 is the one I check first) but I may be clicking on this more. My only real grip so far is the icon used…
I was wondering when this show would return. I had hoped it would return around the same time as Game of Thrones but no such luck.
